P2P NIGHTMARES help please?

Ares is my favorite but 2 days ago it would only do mp3 files for some reason so I thought maybe I needed to up grade so I did and then it wouldn't connect. I tried to let it sit for 6 hours even.So I did An uninstall and reg. cleaner and all the other good stuff and went back to the old version and still blah nothing at all. I used Lime wire, Frost wire, Morpheus, Winmx,I have used the bear share and all and all had spy ware or viruses. Then I bought this new comp and my prayers were answered when the guy at the place i got it told me about the glorious ares P2P program. Now after 6 months it has died on me can any one help me. I called the place I got it and he dont work there any more and they said they cant help me against policy ha. P.S. I have also tried the quick fix links and patches but nope the ones that the links worked didnt help and the others were old links that has moved to somewhere who knows can you help I'll rate all good answers and pick a best answer also that means ten points. I'll also block any nonsense users so please only serious answers only.
