It is the idea of checks and balances. The legislative branch creates law and controls money. The executive branch inforces laws and control the military. The Judicial branch controls what is fair under the constiution. This is all possible by John Marshall with Marbury v. Madison were the supreme court got power with the idea they can declare what is constitutional and what isnt.
