Should humanity abandon organized religion in favor of a universal spiritualism?

I think religion is inherently divisive as those of one religion tend to support people of their own religion at the expense of others. This is sad because all humans are brothers and sisters equally worthy of Divine attention and favor. I think all humans should abandon religion and each person should seek their own path to commune with the spiritual. Not only would people grow more as spiritually (since they have to find their own path instead of having things given to them by a preacher or other religious leader) but no one will be able to look down on others due to religion because then we could all recognize that each of us is doing the best we can. Do you think that you would be in favor of abandoning rigid church structures in favor of a looser collective universal church?
