Blood seeping from wound...?

I had a perirectal abscess drained in December. Since then it has healed and the wound closed. This weekend I had a reddish purple bump come up on the scar and then it popped. Since it popped Saturday night it hasnt stopped seeping blood. I went back to the rectal surgeon today and he said that I could have a secondary infection from the abscess but that he doesnt think it serious. I just went to the bathroom and there was blood dripping from the abscess into the toilet. I could hear it steadily dripping. Ok..... i might not be a dr but something doesnt seem right. Im thinking about going to the ER and having them look at it. Im starting to wonder how long a wound can just drip blood before it heals. Has anyone had this happen?
