Your messenger RNA goes to the ribosomes where it meets up with transfer RNA (tRNA). tRNA brings the appropriate amino acid to the ribosomes which is catalyzing the reaction. You can find which amino acid you need by translating the mRNA. For example, a strand of mRNA is: CUA AUC GUU. tRNA will bring the amino acids Leu, Ile, Val to the ribosome for it to attach to the growing protein chain.
