Herbst jaw appliance?

i just got the herbst jaw appliance but without the springs. It hurts like a motherr! i cant eat, and spring break is in 2 days! i cant even talk right! i cant move my mouth cuz theres like big wires of metal. I have really bad slicing in my cheek and it hurts!!! i hate it so muchhh!!!!!! iim soo hungry! i can only eat/ drink liquids!! this sucks! why cant i just have rubberbands lke other NORMAL people instead of this huge piece of space junk in my mouth!! HELPP!
