Mid-twenties girl... traveling aone?

I really wnat to travel but nobody I'm close can can either afford to, has the time or interest as much as I do. I have been thinking about travelling alone... but I am a 25 yr old female -- I'm pretty small and weak don't know if that will be dangerous?? Or am i just being pathetic and just do it? Any suggestions or experiences would be very helpful...
